Norma Kuhling is an American actress who portrays Dr. Ava Bekker in Chicago Med.

Biography[]

Born and raised in New York, Kuhling started acting in plays from a young age, making her theater debut in "Moonchildren" by Michael Weller at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. She also has a background in ballet and Dunham technique, as well as classical piano and singing. Kuhling trained at Double Edge Theatre, focusing on Grotowski-based physical theater before attending LAMDA, the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Soon after graduation, Kuhling booked a role in Scott Hicks' independent film "Fallen," alongside Lola Kirke and Jeremy Irvine. Her previous television work includes a recurring role on the USA Network series "Falling Water." Kuhling was recently cast in a lead role in Dan Sallitt's independent film "Fourteen," which will complete filming next year.

When not filming on location, Kuhling lives in London.

Kuhling first appeared as Dr. Ava Bekker, the new workplace rival of Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell), in the season-two finale of the NBC drama Chicago Med. She will reprise her role as a series regular in the third season.
